I sighed, my bright blue gaze out of my window as I watched the white headed form of my old guard marched away from the large gothic structure. I saw his movement as he seemed to look in my direction. I couldn't be certain, though. His figure was blurry both from my inability to see far away and the salty tears that welled up in my eyes.

I turned away from the window, going to my bed and flopping down on it. My waist length white blond hair soon was hiding my face as I buried my face in my blankets. I didn't care how rumpled my pale violet gown got nor how I was getting my ball gown beneath me wet with tears and snot. Time seemed to stop and I felt myself drift off to sleep only to be rudely woken up by a rapping on my door.

"Princess? I have two people who would like to meet you..." The gentle voice of my handmaid said through the oak doors. I lifted my head, my eyes still having a tinge of red to them from excessive crying. I sat up, sniffling and wiping my eyes.

"Is it more possible guards? If so I don't want them," I croaked, my voice cracking near the end as I felt more tears fall down my face and onto my hands.

"It is... But please, Your Highness, you must at least give them a chance... You did the same with the others..." She said softly and I could hear her skirts rustle a bit.

"The last time I did they tried to do unexplainable things to me! None will replace my Big Brother!" I shouted suddenly, rage filling every fiber of my being as I shot up from the bed. Big Brother... That's what I called my brave once personal knight. The only man who ever could stand my rude and selfish nature. The only man who stood next to me, even after my twin brother's body was found in the moat the third day after we were born. The only man who was alright with not becoming wed and having a family so long as I'd be happy. How did it all vanish? Simple.

My father forced him into the army. Roughly yanked the only person who was close to being a brotherly figure and sent him off to sure death. All because he was afraid my guard would court me and make me his own. Not only was the mere thought perverse, but also so... wrong. And either way, my heart already belonged to another.

While lost in thought, I had failed to notice my handmaid open the door to my room and bring in the new personal guards. She gently tapped my shoulder, jumping back when I jumped and squeaked in fear, turning to her as if she would kill me at any second.

"M-my lady I-I hope you don't mind... T-they're the only female guards in the kingdom. I-I hope you can like them," She squeaked and I stopped, looking at the two women in front of me.

One was more beautiful then I had ever thought and her eyes seemed to draw everything in. The darker crimson of her eyes stood out on her odd grayer skin. The flecks of silver in them caused me to become curious. How did..? I grew silent as I stared in her eyes, my own bright blue orbs showing interest and fascination. I reached out a hand, as though her appearance wasn't real. As though she was nothing but a mere ghost.

My trance was snapped when I noticed the fascinating crimson and silver flecked eyes vanished from my view, the clanking of armour against armour and ground helping out that. I watched as both of them kneeled before me, heads bowed respectfully. I took note of the armour. The more fascinating one of the two wore a lightweight silver armour only around her torso and lightweight silver armour on her legs but that was it. None on the arms. Another peculiar thing was that she wore no shoes and her darker auburn hair was cut boy short.

I looked towards the other. She had mid back length light brown hair that was put up in a tight french braid and had armour covering every inch of her body. It was a heavier armour but was obviously cast with magic so she could still be able to move around swiftly in it. Upon further inspection with my bad eyes I noted that she had a copper coloured violin etched into the back of her body armour and that hers was completely tinged in the coppery colour. I looked to my handmaid who was smiling at me, practically telling me to accept these new guards.

I blinked then asked in a steady voice, "What are your names, fair knights?" I heard a snort and saw a smirk cross the odd girls face.

"'Fair knights'?" Another snort followed by her looking up to me, a challenging look on her face. "Yuna Athill, Your Highness," She finally said, putting some spite on the 'Your Highness' part.

The other glanced up and sighed a bit upon seeing me glare at the other, readying my hand to initiate punishment to the mouthy one before me. "Please excuse my partners insolence," she said, causing Yuna and I to look at her.

"Who're you?" I asked stubbornly, crossing my arms over my chest and glaring.

"Arachne Athill," She said simply, earning a glare from Yuna.

"You're sisters?" I asked, disbelief showing in my voice.

"Technically. My family adopted her," Arachne said easily, though it was a very well hidden lie. "We grew up together as children and went into the Royal Guard together."

Yuna smirked, standing up and placing a hand on her hip. "Well, what's your name?"

I blinked, not expecting this so quickly. Either way, I should have expected it. "Angelica. I know you already know my last name," I said rather bluntly, putting my weight on one of my legs and narrowing my eyes, crossing my arms at Yuna who laughed.

"I KNEW you were putting up a front with your old innocence personality!" Yuna said, giggling a bit. "Haha just like I thought!!"

I scowled even more at Yuna, striking her across her face and screeching when her head didn't move and I felt her metal cold skin harm my hand with what should be her pain. "What is WRONG with you?!" I shouted, cradling my throbbing bright red hand.

Arachne was at my side immediately, holding onto my hand and seemingly drawing the pain out. I sniffled a bit, glaring at the weapon who stood there nearly laughing her ass off.

"Haha such an idiot!!" She said before laughing out loud.

"Shut up!!" I shouted.

"Whatever you say, Princess!"

Needless to say, these guards would never leave me bored.

Dude. YES. I love the idea of the plot. Not so much the princess, but then again, I was the child that always wanted to be a queen growing up. They had the REAL power!

But yes, the development with these three seems like it will go places, and these places shall be amusing. I can't wait to see more!
